As the staff took care of me while I was here, I wanted to do the same in return. Unfortunately, subletting can draw in some interesting characters. I recently subletted my lofted 1 bedroom, as I took a job offer out of State. Timberlake Village has been by far the best place I have ever lived. So, thank you John and Katie and the rest of the Timberlake Village staff for being all around awesome people! I've been a resident there for years and will continue to be until I buy a home/condo in the future because it's obvious they care about the health and happiness of their residents. In addition they've offered assistance to the temporarily displaced residents by letting them know about discounted rates at a few hotels/motels and genuinely doing everything they can to make sure the effected residents have a place to stay. While this did not effect me personally beyond me not being able to access my underground parking spot for two days, communication is absolutely key and I want to say how amazing of a job the staff has done in keeping us as residents in the loop as things have unfolded. To say the least, It's a little unnerving to come home from work one day and see tons of emergency response vehicles all over the place and have no idea what's going on. I wanted to write this review in response to the recent events surrounding the hazardous materials found in one of the buildings at Timberlake. DO NOT RENT HERE!!! Go somewhere else while you still can! To provide some context, Timberlake is not the first apartment I've lived in in Madison but I have never had problems like this with other apartments.

Although you'd need a key to go into the building, it seems the neighborhood is just not safe enough to have your package sit there for more than a few hours. We often had occasions when our packages went missing after they were delivered to our building. They were rude and scornful when we asked them for help. To be clear, it's not the little kids that we hate, it's the Timberlake Apartment management - why on earth would you always put families with kids on high floors without doing some kind of noise control to your floorboards? The property managers are aloof and unresponsive to our problems. And from what we heard from other people in the building, we are not the only ones having noise problems from neighbors on upstairs floors. If you are lucky like us and have little kids who live upstairs, the stompings and poundings can drive you mad. We can hear exactly where our higher level neighbors are and what they are doing. Floorboards between upper and lower levels are unbelievably thin. Even when we toured the apartment, they deliberately showed us apartments facing the other sides to cover up this problem. The property managers lied to us when we asked them about the noise problem before we moved in - they promised us we would hear nothing if we just close the windows.

If you get an apartment that faces the Beltline Hwy, you would hear incessant loud noises coming from the highway night and day, even if you pull down all the windows and blinders. I would have given this place zero stars if I can. This is absolutely the worst place I've ever stayed in.
